OOXML not approved by ISO
The draft standard ISO/IEC DIS 29500, Information technology
- Office Open XML file formats (aka OOXML, ECMA-376)
was not approved by ISO.
The five-month ballot process ended on 2 September, OOXML
has not achieved the required number of votes for approval.

- Ars Aperta is member of the technical committe
on the revisable document format of the Afnor (French NB) in charge
of the OOXML case.
The Afnor voted "No with comment" to the ISO normalization of ECMA-37:
